Cross Country
It has been many years since there's been a big cross-country race at Blue Mountain. Well as of 2011, that's all going to change. This will be a lung-burning, heart-pounding course that will surely separate the men and women from the boys and girls. Using Blue Mountain's 226 metres of vertical and terrain varying from open Canadian shield to single-track through the woods, this will be Blue's return to XC racing with a vengeance. For kids aged 5-9, we have set up a separate free cross country course that will run on Saturday!
Dual Slalom
A wayback throwback, Dual-Slalom will be familiar to anyone who raced in the late '90s. 2 riders simultaneously race down parallel courses filled with haybales and gates to keep the riders separate as they fly over jumps and rail berms. This makes for an amazing spectator sport often filled with lead-changes and is out in the open where there is nowhere to hide. It has been many years since there's been a big DS race at Blue Mountain, so the only question left is do you feel lucky?
Downhill
Downhill is nothing new to Blue Mountain. With one of the largest lift-fed trail systems in the East, all levels of riders can find something to enjoy. Last year, the purpose-built East Coast Open race course was lauded by riders as being one of the best they've ever raced on. Berms, jumps and drops were added, as well as some super technical areas including the famous bowling alley section! This year, the course designers will be stepping it up with secret construction well underway.
